Whitney's First Haircut

Image
Whitney's hair took a very long time to come in, she was taking after her Aunt Kelley who was bald until the age of two!!! :)  We have friends that get their child's hair cut once a month and here Whitney is 2 years old experiencing her first hair cut.  We thought it was time because the little tail in the back was getting out of control:)   Im glad we waited because as you know, Whitney hasn't always been fond of being in strange places with new people and I think it would have been an ordeal as short as even a few months ago.  She handled it like a champ though! The whole way there she asked us to tell her what the "brush" place was like!?!  She thinks they just brush her hair??  We had to wait a few minutes but she enjoyed looking at all the different choices of chairs she could sit in.  She also couldn't believe that she could pick any one of her favorite shows to watch while she got her hair cut.  She of course chose Doc Mc...

Fun with Friends

Image
We take advantage of the fact that I am at home with Whitney and make the most of our days.  No sense in sitting home when we can be out exploring the world right? :) In the past couple of weeks we had some exciting park play dates as well as some seeing some friends we haven't seen in awhile.  It is awesome that Whitney has overcome her lack of fear of people and is able to have so much fun with her friends. This isn't with a friend but I would say it was the highlight of her week, for the first time she pushed the cart and loaded to groceries into the cart at Kroger.  She was giggling so hard it caused her to run into a few end caps haha! Play date at the park with Will and Adele!   Play date with Noah, Jackson, and Peyton.  They  had cookies to celebrate Jackson turning one! Dinner date with GG and Gramps at steak and shake! Play date with Ellie!!!  These girls havent seen each other in a...

Reds Game and Spring time weather!

Image
We are loving this warmer weather and have been outside so much.  Unfortunately for us, Whitney and I have terrible spring allergies :((( so we are outside but with a box of tissues with us at all times!!  We are hoping that the rain storm coming tonight will be strong enough to get rid of the pollen that is flying all around us!! It is amazing to me how much Whit has grown since last summer.  She used to need me close by in case she was unsteady....she tripped a lot because she isn't always super coordinated, she wanted me to play with her no matter who was around, she never left the front yard and rarely talked to our neighbors.  Flash to this summer and she is the total opposite.  She is running all over the cul-de-sac with her friends playing kick ball, house, writing with chalk, playing in the sand and basketball.  Brings tears to my eyes sometimes to see how much she has grown up!  These neighborhood kids are so sweet with her, most ar...

Our BIG girl!

Image
Well I write this one month and three days after we initially started potty training and have to say that even with all that craziness a few weeks back, we are GOOD to go!  She is loving being a big girl and holds her bladder like a camel! I was so proud the other day when she said mommy hurry the pee is coming!  She let out a little tiny dime size amount of pee and held it until we got to the bathroom, that right there solidified for me that she is able to control her bladder!  Not an easy task but I am happy to have it behind us and have a big girl on our hands:) This past week has been nice weather wise so we have been outside a lot.  I have been amazed at how much she has grown since last fall.  I mean I know she is bigger and smarter but it was just crazy to see it with my own eyes.   The way she moves around the neighborhood, walks so confidently down stairs, talks to the neighbors and even plays with the neighbor kids...

Zoo Weather

Image
Last time we went to the zoo it was FREEZING and so crowded that we couldn't even more our stroller an inch without bumping into someone.  So we were excited to be back there again with room to walk and nice weather to enjoy! My initial thoughts were that Whitney would LOVE the animals since she is older and has a better understanding then she did last summer.  She talked all the way down there about the animals she couldnt wait to see and in which order we would see them....... First thing we do is walk into the elephant house and she literally starts shivering!!!  She jumped out of the stroller and climbed up my legs!  I picked her up and honestly didn't need to hold on because she was wrapped around me so tightly.  Poor thing covered her eyes and said get me out of here!!!   I could not believe it!  I really thought it would be an awesome thing for her to see three elephants (that she talks so much about) up close an...

Easter!

Image
Although this is Whitney's third Easter, I believe that this is the first one she will remember because she was still pretty young last year....   We had such a great long weekend with all three of us home spending time together and visiting with family! Whitney didn't dye eggs last year -- a little apprehensive because again she was a little young -- but this year she loved dying eggs.  Her favorite part though was smashing the eggs on the table after accidentally dropping one and hearing that funny sound that it made.  I saw a great idea on pinterest about using a whisk instead of the wire dippers and it worked so well, I will definitely be doing it that way again! Whit and Daddy spent the morning together on Saturday while I visited my Grandpa in the hospital.  She of course didnt even know I was gone:) haha!  While I was gone Whitney became quite fond of our handheld vacuum.  She swept a lot of the house ...
