Social Butterflies

Image
Between the play dates with friends and birthday parties we have been to recently, we have had our share of social interaction!  I feel like we were stuck inside for so long throughout the nasty winter that its like everyone is coming out of the wood work to play and get out of the house! We went with our friend Jenny and her two little ones to a really cool place called Skyzone.  It is literally wall to wall trampolines but the best part is they have toddler time which allows the little ones to jump with kids their own size and not have to worry about getting hurt!  It was such a great time and a wonderful way to wear out your child hahaha!! Whit and I got a special treat one Saturday morning and got to go and meet Evan Weddle.  He is Ryan's baby brother and oh so tiny!!  Whitney brought presents and donuts for her friends and loved playing while the adults visited!   We spent some quality time with Granny and Gramps after his carpal tunnel su...

Xavier

Image
It has been so fun this March Madness with our girls.  We had a Xavier viewing party with Ryan's family and then after their win, another party at Jay and Elaine's house to cheer them on a second time!  It looks like our viewing parties are good luck!!!   Yay for Xavier and cousin love!

Spring is here!

We can FINALLY get outside and play!!  As you can see from the pictures below, we even go out when its still a little chilly because we need the fresh air!!  Whit is so much better at riding her bike and scooter this year and Meredith just loves being outside.  She squeals when you put her in the pink push car and is silent in the stroller as she is in awe of everything she can see and hear!!  We live in a great neighborhood and are so thankful for the kids that play with our girls and the cul-de-sac and sidewalks that allow us to ride and play safely! Between riding bikes, treasure hunts, swinging and playing with the neighbors I think we will have a very busy summer!  Its amazing how much we miss being outside, bring on the warm weather!

And we have a crawler....

Image
Meredith started crawling in the middle of March.  She started out with one straight leg that dragged behind her and she really just moved in circles; but now she is full on crawling everywhere!! Yesterday she noticed the piano pedals and made a beeline right for them.  She isn't moving fast yet but she is covering some distance so I am sure that will be the next to come.  Watch out Whitney:) I wrote the above part yesterday and would you believe that between now and then she is crawling pretty fast and found the stairs!!!!!!  She has not quite figured out how to get up them but she loves leaning on the first step and clapping. This is such a new experience for us because Whitney barely crawled.  She was 12 months old before she even attempted to crawl and then about two weeks after she started crawling, she began walking!!!  So I haven't dealt with a baby crawling and getting into everything until now....guess I better start baby proofing the house. ...

Update on the girls

Image
Whitney and Meredith are finally healthy and loving their time together as always.  Whitney gets upset when Meredith goes down for nap and Meredith cranes her neck so hard just to get a glimpse of Whitney as soon as we come down the stairs.  So sweet!  Thought I would do an update on the girls since they change so much! Mere is seven months old (February) and will be eight months in 17 days!  I really cannot believe how fast the past seven months have been!  Meredith is still around 20 pounds (what an "average" 18 month old child weighs.....)  It is so hard carrying her in the car seat but believe it or not that is so much easier then getting her out for drop off and pick up at preschool.   We have a nice little "coat" that goes over her car seat and keeps her nice and warm so until the weather gives us a break, she will continue to be carried in her seat.  Whew.....my back kills me by the time I get back to the car! This little girl d...

Snow

Image
We sure have enough snow to go around and are all ready for some warmer weather, but Whitney LOVED being in the snow this past time.  She got to sled for the first time and even built a snowman and igloo with Papaw. Its been downright freezing so most days we are unable to go out and play in the snow but that didn't stop us from enjoying it.  We brought some snow into us!  We had fun burying guys and painting the snow with water colors.  Meredith even got to touch snow for the first time.  Her face was priceless...she really didn't know what to think at first but loved it of course when she figured out she could eat it!! Ryan took Whitney to a park down the street and she got to sled down the hill all by herself.  Ryan said she fell a few times but LOVED it.  She walked all the way back up herself and sure slept well that night!!  Papaw asked Whitney to come over and build a snow man with him.  She had so much fun.  They ended up ma...
