Pat, Pat, Pat

Image
The cutest thing happened at Jamison's party on Sunday.  I completely forgot we had a picture of it until Laurann posted a comment on my last blog..... (thanks Laurann ;) it is just too sweet not to share) Whitney was on Laurann's lap and these two adorable twins came over to check her out.  The boys were so sweet and gentle, Whit was soaking up the attention.  The boys started touching Whitney's head so Whit decided to do the same, she was feeling their hair and doing her "pat, pat, pat" that she always does to her books.  It was adorable to watch!!!  At the end Whit let out a loud squeal and the closest boy stuck his finger in her mouth...haha!!!

Still no crawling

Image
Whitney isn't interested in crawling one bit.  You put her on her knees and she flattens out faster then you can blink your eyes.  She does however roll and roll around the house like it is her job.  When she hits a wall, chair, the fireplace, it doesn't bother her because she keeps rolling (in place) .... haha.  Perhaps Whit will just skip the crawling stage and move right onto walking.  Or it could be that she starts talking and just says, "mommy move me over there..." :) This weekend we went to Jamison's first birthday party.  Whitney and Jamison go way back;)  It was fun seeing him open his gifts and try cake for the very first time, Whit's day will be here before we know it!!  She got tired at the end of the day and would only laugh/smile and not cry when she could pull Ryan's hair.  This is a new found hobby for her and it is apparently soothing!  Poor daddy is going to be going bald one strand of hair at a time!! (p.s. thi...

Friday Night Fun

Image
Whit, Ryan and I decided to walk through the field to the swings behind our house.  Funny that we live so close but yet have never been to the swings with her.  Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I do not like sweating and it has been terribly hot all summer!!  Anyway, the three of us went to play on the swings and kill a few minutes before bed time.  Whitney loved it and waved her arms and squealed the whole time!!  We didn't last very long though because it was getting chilly quickly!! A new development today is that Whit is making a new sound.  She started off with ma ma which lets all face it, is totally her way of saying MAMA.  Then she moved onto say bah bah all the time but today she said da da!!! I know she knows what it means too because she will say ma ma when she wants me to pick her up or is upset and said dada today when looking at Ryan!!  She is "talking" constant though, I believe we could be in trouble when she learns...

Par - tay (Weekend of (9/10/11)

Image
**For some reason this didn't post last week...so it is out of order!! To start the weekend off, Jenny surprised me with a visit to school.  It made my day to see Whitney looking out the windows as I came back from buses.  After a long week it was exactly what I needed:) Saturday was a full day that started with Drew's second birthday party.  Drew is Whitney's second cousin on Ryan's side of the family.  We had a great time visiting with everyone and would you believe that Whitney fell asleep on me in the middle of a crowded noisy room for thirty minutes!!!  We were thankful but that was her only nap for the afternoon but I guess we have to take what we can get!!   Later that evening we went to church and saw Gammy, Papaw, Aunt Elaine, Uncle and JJ!!  We all decided to head to our favorite spot, The Silver Spring House!!  For some reason it wasn't very busy and they sat all 7 of us right away!! Great Aunt Judy become Whitney's...

Kings Island

Image
Whit, Ryan and I went to Kings Island for our very first P&G Dividend Day!!  (Thanks Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Kelley for letting us use your tickets) We headed towards the Eiffel tower first to see the Loads of Hope booth that Aunt Kelley worked so hard on for this event.  She did a great job and will make so many children happy:) Then Grandma and Grandpa, Ryan and I set off with Whitney to enjoy some rides.  First stop was the diamond back which is our very favorite.  Whitney got to spend some quality time with Grandpa while the three of us rode the ride two times in a row because there was no line!! After some lunch we decided to head over to the Merry Go Round for Whitney's first ride!!!  I was feeling a little sick after all the other rides so Bret and I sat out to watch the others have fun:) She loved every second of it.  I have a feeling that when we go next year we will be spending a lot of our time ...

Clapping, waving, bubbles and more....

Image
Time sure does fly!!  I figured once school started that I wouldn't be able to post a lot...so I will just have to settle for lots of events in one blog!! Jenny discovered that Whitney loves bubbles!  She doesn't necessarily go crazy reaching for them but loves watching them fall to the ground.  She even learned the sign for "more" while asking for more bubbles!!  She doesn't use the sign frequently but we are working on it:) Whitney also loves playing peek a boo with Jenny, she goes behind the door and peeks through the opening which makes her giggle!! Whit has acquired a new hobby....stacking Tupperware!!  Jenny keeps her Tupperware in the bottom cabinet since her girls loved playing with them and has me convinced that I should do the same! We have been working on waving, clapping and blowing kisses for about a month now and she did two of the three this weekend!!  Aunt Kelley feels special since Whitney waved to...

Finding our Groove

Image
The honeymoon period has worn off as we approach the end of our third week of school.  What was exciting and energizing at first is now becoming tiring and overwhelming.  Although I am still trying to work out my schedule and how I can juggle being a mom, wife and teacher all in the same day, little miss Whitney is doing wonderfully.  She adjusted so quickly to life at the Bishop house and greets me every afternoon with a smile.  She adores Jenny, Emma and Caroline and is exhausted by days end.  She sometimes needs to take a cat nap before she eats dinner because she is so worn out.  Perhaps that is from all the excitement but it could also stem from the fact that she is no longer loving her long naps!  We are getting maybe 20-30 minutes out of her and therefore she is awake from around 2:00 until she goes to bed at 7:00!! It is still early in the school year so I am hoping that in the next few weeks we can get all the kinks out and feel c...
