Its POTTY time!

Whit and I have been talking about going potty on the big girl potty for a few weeks now.  She is very excited to go to the store and pick out big girl undies, Minnie mouse of course, and even repeats over and over to herself, "Im gonna say I have to pee mommy, then run to the potty and go go go!!" haha:)   However we haven't really tired going on the potty just yet.  She has her unused plastic potty upstairs that she pretends to sit in but she has yet to try it.  Tonight however, she was in the tub playing her new favorite game, alphabet soup, when she declared that she needed to poop.  Ive been through this before and didn't want to clean the whole tub all by myself with a wet toddler, so I grabbed her and put her on her potty.   She sat there for awhile and said no mommy, look that way not here.....  Nothing happened and she eventually went back into the tub, where I washed her as quickly as I could....just in case:). While I was putting ...

Siesta Key 2012

For as long as I can remember I have spent Thanksgiving on the beach with my family. So naturally continuing the tradition with our daughter was only expected.  Whitney experienced it last year but she was obviously too young to remember it, and to be honest it wasn't one of my favorite trips.  We all had a rough time down there and it just wasn't as easy as I had hoped it to be, so going down this year was a little scary for me! My parents offered for Whit and I to spend two weeks down there with them since I am off work this year. They were driving down and were taking our luggage and even picking Whit and I up at the airport, so it seemed like a no brainer...even though I was super scared to try it all again.  Ryan dropped Whitney and I off at the airport and the two of us flew down to Tampa where my Mom and Bret were waiting for us.   She was a perfect angel on the flight.  It wasn't as bad as I thought but let me tell you, sitting in ...

Trick or Treat

Although Whitney has already had her "first" Halloween  this one was really the first one she participated in.  Last year she couldn't walk or crawl and was in bed before half of the trick or treaters came to our door.  This year she was a ladybug and was so excited to go to the neighbors to say, "Trick or Treat...Thank you". We had been practicing all month:) My Mom and Bret came by after work to see Whit in her costume and helped pass out candy as we took her to a few houses.  I guarantee she would have lasted a lot longer but it was pretty cold and rainy which didn't make for much fun.   Practicing saying Trick or Treat Ready with her new princess basket from Mamaw and Papaw Playing on the porch before it was time to head out Whitney and our neighbors grandson, Zach.  He just started walking Some of our other neighbors, Rachel and Carmen came to say hello too! Whitney and Daddy walking up ...

Mom's Retirement Week!

After 37 years my mom is retired!!!  She is ready to relax and spend more time with Whitney:) The fun filled week started off with a surprise party at her work.  Bret, Kelley Whitey and I were there to see her showered with love!!  What a fun day! Whitney playing with her new BFF Karen.  My mom works in the same office as Karen and Whitney has really taken a liking to her.  In this picture they are using a telescope to "check out" each others hands:) Being silly with Papaw The second part of the week was a party for my mom at her favorite place, The Silver Spring House!  What she didn't know was that we (everyone but her) were in on the secret that Caleb and Meg flew in from Denver to surprise her:) Here is the fam, minus Ryan and Whitney at my mom's party. Whit got to spend the day with Uncle Caleb and Aunt Meg before the BIG surprise!! Mom's good friends Gary and Gina at the party! Hanging out, t...
