Whitney's new things

Image
***Disclaimer*** I am a bragging mother in this post -- I am not maintaining a baby book and realized that I better get this info about whits development down or I will forget it!!!  So bare with me! Recently Whitney has been repeating after us and talking up a storm.  One of her newest things is waving at everyone and everything that is in sight.  She sits at our window and watches the kids at recess and waves for what seems like ever.  She will also crane her neck to see birds in the sky and wave frantically at them.  She also has learned that she can drop things and say "uh oh"....which always gets a laugh and of course someone nearby picking up the item she dropped.  She did it all through the store this morning and got countless strangers to smile and pick up her toy she was dropping over and over:) Whitney's new favorite sign is "me, me, me".  She signs it when you ask, "who is the pretty girl?" or "who is the big girl?"  She claps, w...

Meeting Will

Image
Whitney FINALLY got to meet her new friend Will tonight.  We have been so busy that this date has been put off for weeks.  It was great to see his parents of course but just as my mom tells me, "when you have kids is isn't about you anymore..." haha:) Whitney wanted to touch him and "pat pat pat" his head but did NOT want her mom or dad to hold Will.  This has to be a new development of hers because she cried the second either of us were holding him!! Anyway, Will is going to give Whitney's friend Jamison a run for his money!!  We cannot wait until they are all old enough to have play dates together and actually know what it means:) We also got to spend time with their dog Baxter.  Whitney was not scared of him and kept trying to pet him when he ran by.  She also found out that if she dropped Cheerios on the ground he would scurry to eat them up!!! Poor Will just woke up and was forced into this picture! Trying to hold hands Hard to...

Full day of parties

Image
We had a day full of birthday celebrations on Saturday, 11/12/11.  First we went to JJ's 2nd birthday party at Jim and Elaine's house; where he had a Thomas the Train party and was so excited about his new toys!!  Whitney got used to the crowd and enjoyed watching her cousins run around and play ball, it wont be too long before she is running right along with them....or will it?? haha:) Then I headed off for some girl time to celebrate my mom's birthday.  We had a blast getting pedicures and eating Orange Leaf.  We then met the fam at our favorite spot, The Silver Spring House, for some good food before heading back to our house for dessert. It was a busy day but it was worth it for all the family time!! Peekaboo her favorite game! Patting JJ's head as he hugs her leg! Wasn't so sure about the Thomas the Train hat Aunt Elaine gave her... First bubble bath

Image
Since Whitney loves bubbles so much we thought we just had to try a bubble bath. She was very apprehensive at first but once she figured out they were just bubbles, she loved it. The pictures were from the beginning when she was not so sure. :)

Go Muskies

Image
After much deliberation, we took Whit to her first XU basketball game last night.  Ryan and I were apprehensive about taking her since she has not proven to be big on loud noises or large crowds.  She also has been so tired recently and hasn't made it past 7:00 p.m. on most nights so we knew it would be a challenge to go to a game that started at 6:00 p.m. But thought, we will never know unless we try:)  Brave right!!? Well she loved it.  She was mesmerized by all the people, lights and sounds.  She got sleepy but ended up staying awake and didn't cry the entire time!!  Her cousin J.J. was there and the two of them had fun sitting next to each other and cheering on the Muskies.  Towards the end she started to catch onto the fact that everyone was clapping and clapped right along with them.  At one point it was so loud with people yelling, that she started to yell too:) Its a shame that most of the games are later in the evening because our lit...
