Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012 was amazing! We loved seeing the experience through Whitney's eyes, I think we were more excited then she was to open her presents!!  

We got a kick out of how she opened presents this year by tearing off one little piece at a time asking, "what is in here??" after each one!  Of course she immediately wanted to open and play with each gift she got, but was pretty understanding when we said she had to wait.  It was a little surprising that she would lose interest in opening gifts so quickly but that was mostly due to the fact that she wanted to play with something else she had just opened :)  

Whitney really had a Christmas week and opened many presents prior to the big day thanks to our wonderful neighbors!  She got a diaper bag from Jim and Priscilla which she just loves!  A crocodile, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, flashlight from her friend Lizzie and Minnie Mouse bath accessories from baby Zack!

On Christmas Eve the three of us went to church with the Skeldons and then back to their house for dinner, presents and games.  She got a tent which she immediately wanted to open and put up, but didn't realize that by doing that the boys would want to join too.  I knew from previous experiences that Whitney doesn't like to be in the tent with others and therefor she didn't use her new toy right away haha!  Her friend Will has the same tent and Whit always wants to go in there but she literally dives out when someone else tries to enter...still working on those social skills:)

Another favorite of hers was a tutu that Gammy made her.  As soon as she put it on she started to dance around the room!

Christmas morning was so exciting for all of us.  Ryan and I didnt know what to expect because she didn't get to bed until late the night before and were hoping that she would not be a hot mess when she woke!  She was a little confused and kept asking where santa was but eventually said that she wanted to open her gifts.  She was so overwhelmed that she didn't notice her new car that was unwrapped under the tree for a little bit.  Her BFF lizzie has this car and they constantly fight over who is going to ride in it, so we knew that we had to get her one for Christmas.  We had to pause our present opening so that she could ride in her car around the house.  

Her new favorite game with Daddy is to ride around the house with her purse and credit card buying various household items.  And dont you worry, she knows exactly how to swipe that card  haha!!!

She got a Jake doll and a tiny Minnie Mouse that she rocked back and forth all morning long.  

This dog is the only thing she wanted for Christmas; when you asked her what she wanted she would say a dog.  At first we thought, who put her up to this....how does she even know to ask for a real dog??  But it turns out that she remembered that we got her friend Will this exact dog for her birthday and she wanted it so badly.  

She got two tents for Christmas...we told her that she didn't need two so we are taking the above tent back to Santa so another kid can have it:)

Christmas at my Mom and Brets house was fun as always:)  Whit was extra excited about their new little puppy that seemed to take a liking to her as well.  It was great to spend time with everyone and just be together because it doesn't happen to often anymore with Caleb and Meg being in Colorado.  She was spoiled and loved soaking up all the attention!

She got a new table and chairs from Mamaw and Papaw that she would barely leave to open other presents!

She got to spend time with Caleb and Meg which was awesome.  Poor things were exhausted but really hung in there throughout their whirlwind Cincy weekend:)

The day after Christmas was for cleaning the house, rearranging the toys and taking down the Christmas decorations.  Yes, I am one of those people, I have even taken the tree down on Christmas day before but I held out this year because of Whitney:)

While we waited for the impending snow storm, which we never got by the way... totally missed loveland, we played with some of our new toys!!!!
