18 months
Cant believe little Whitney is already 18 months old!! Time has just flown by!!
Here is an update on what our little girl is doing/into these days:)
She is currently 24 lbs and 33 inches long. (75% in height and 25% in weight) She has 16 teeth and a full head of hair that I can FINALLY get into a small pony tail!
Sleeping:
We are in a little bit of a rut right now and sleeping is not going so well. She got an ear infection a few weeks ago and even since then she cannot be away from her mommy. She cries when I am in the shower and she is standing right outside of the shower door!! So the past few weeks have been with little sleep and barely any naps. We are struggling. But last night was a little better and her nap was longer than usual too, she we are hoping she is back on track. Before this mess she was sleeping 11-12 hours a night and napping around 2 hours in the afternoon. Boy do I miss that :)
Friendly:
She is super friendly and love talking to anyone that will listen. She will shout to someone at the store in the same aisle as us, "Hi, how you doing?" haha. Also instead of saying bye she says, "see you little". Our neighbors are her best friends and she looks for them everyday. Jim and Cilla love Whitney too and get just as excited when she is outside. A little girl around 9 or 10 named Avery lives across the street and Whitney will stand at the door and yell, "AVERY HUG". The other day Avery was showing her how to play soccer and she just smiled the entire time.
Singing:
She loves to sing. Her favorite songs are:
Running Running and Shake your egg from her favorite library class
Twinkle Twinkle
ABC's
Rock a bye baby
A is for apple
Sounds the animals make
WHITNEY CHEER (made up but she can sing the whole thing!!)
Counting and Sentences:
Whitney can count to 12 (she usually skips three and four) and can put four or five words together in a sentence. The other day she woke from her nap and said, "Mommy, bug in ear." Sure enough took her to the doc and she had an ear infection. LOVE that she can talk and express herself.
Favorites:
Show me --this started when she came running into the kitchen saying, "mommy SOMETHING HAPPENED!!!" and I replied, "show me". Ever since then when Whitney does something she thinks she needs us to see, she runs to us and says, "SHOW ME!!!" You cannot tell her to hang on, you must come right away and sometimes she wont even tell you what it is you are looking for haha:)
She is also VERY into playing games on my IPHONE. She can unlock it and get to the place where her games are...
Babies -- She loves her babies and will hold them and rock them saying the same things I say to her when she is upset. My favorite that she says (and Im not sure where she got this one) is, "Oh baby girl" haha love it.
Zack and Joey -- Are my old barbie dolls (Zach Morris and Joey from new kids on the block). She loves to take them everywhere with her. She makes them sit together and she tries to sit as close to them as possible. There were lots of girl barbies but she chose the boys because they have no hair...she was not a fan of all of that messy hair on my barbies!
Ballpit -- When we first introduced the ballpit to her she was not a fan but not she loves it. She lays down in it, dives in and just loves to throw the balls around.
We are very into books and puzzles as well as Clifford, Curious George and the Brown Bear books.
She gets very excited to go to the park and is now big and steady enough to go on the climbers. She LOVES going down the slides and feeling like a big girl.
