Big Girl
Whitney is growing before our eyes! It seems like a few weeks ago she was wearing newborn clothes and now she is fitting into 6 month outfits! Where has the time gone?
She had her four month check up today and with a few smiles to begin the morning I thought we were off to a good start. However, a few minutes into her visit the waterworks were turned on. I can usually calm her down but this time she was inconsolable and this was all before the two shots!! In between the crying she was weighed and measured. Whitney now weighs 14 lbs 8 ounces and is 25 inches long!
Whitney has been sleeping a lot lately (12.5 hours last night plus four hours in naps total yesterday) and has been really whiny which we thought meant that she was teething. We also thought she was getting her first tooth because was chewing on everything in sight! Dr. Zimmerly did not see any teeth coming in and believes that she is just going through a growth spurt.
Good news though, starting this week we will begin to give Whitney rice cereal!! Dr. Zimmerly said we can try that for a week or so and then start with some carrots, squash and yams! This is very new to both us but we are very excited to start into this new chapter with her!! We also inquired about her ever growing dislike for anyone other than the two of us. Whitney barely cries when she is with us but the moment someone comes close and even looks like they will touch her, she loses it!! Dr. Zimmerly said that it usually doesn't happen until later but it is just a stage and she will soon grow out of it, whew!!
Per doctors orders I put Whitney in her bumbo chair when we got home from her appointment. She mentioned that it would help to put her in there as often as she will allow to gain trunk strength. She seems to love it so far and its nice for me to have her close and at my level, rather than bending over.
