Siesta Key 2016

It seems each trip to Florida gets better and better!  We survived the drive down there, which lets be honest was a complete nightmare, and will be flying next time without a doubt!!  We pulled out of the driveway with smiles and excitement but that was quickly met with anxiousness over when we would arrive (the NEXT afternoon!!) and poor Meredith sneezing about a million times.  After dinner was when it all when down hill fast.  Meredith does not like sleeping in any other position but on her belly so being in a five point harness was not ideal; not to mention the poor thing now had a full blown head cold.  She was hysterical.  Begging to go home and screaming so loud all of our heads were pounding.  Whit finally had enough and let loose too.  So now both girls are having full blown tantrums as we drive through the mountains of Tennessee.

A sleepless night, lots of crying, whining, and many many new cool toys later (thanks Mamaw and Papaw) we made it to the beach and all the stress melted away.  The girls left immediately for the beach with mamaw and papaw while Ryan and I unloaded the car.

They both loved every second of the beach and the pool.  Whitney spent most of her week in the ocean jumping waves and looking for shells.  Meredith loved digging in the and snacking of course!  Swimming was a way for mom and dad to clean all the sand off the girls but they didnt mind, they loved the pool and playing with their friend Rory.

Most nights this year we cooked inside the condo (or grilled) which was new to us.  It was extremely helpful with the girls, especially with Meredith being sick.  We went out a few times and of course, due to Vince's obsession we had ice cream almost every night!

My favorite memory from the trip was our boat ride.  We had a blast and had perfect weather.  No dolphins or manatees to speak of but it was just a lovely time singing songs and dancing around!

I love our family tradition and the fact that the Muscats join us each year.  Its something to look forward to each Thanksgiving and we look forward to many years to come down there!
