Siesta Key 2015

So after our horrible week with surgery and sickness we were off in our van to start our vacation.  Someone had the bright idea to drive through the night and although it seemed like it would work, it was really terrible planning because Ryan and I were seriously sleep deprived from the previous week and were in no condition to make the trek overnight.  Thankfully the girls were wonderful and we made it there safely but we vowed to never do that again haha!!

We had a few minor hiccups throughout the week in Florida (Ryan getting food poisoning and Whitney having skin troubles) but it honestly was the best trip to Siesta Key yet.  It was so awesome having my whole family, plus the Muscats in such close proximity.  We were talking about the fact that we haven't seen Caleb and Megan for more than a few hours at a time for years; so it was great having everyday for a whole week with them! 

Meredith LOVED the beach and pool!  Whitney of course loved playing in both but I think she liked playing in the ocean the best.  One day she spent two straight hours just jumping waves and looking for shells with different family members, she was in her element!  One of my favorite times was the boat trip.  We rented a large pontoon boat for four hours and just cruised.  It was a beautiful day and fun to spend it singing and having fun with our family.  

This vacation we had dinner in our condos a lot more than usual.  It is nice to have that option because with Meredith and her early bedtime, dinner out isn't very enjoyable for mommy or daddy.  Caleb and Meg had a gorgeous condo and we grilled out a few times, ate dinner there and played games together.   I am smiling now just thinking of all the fun times we had and the memories we made.  

Our drive back was uneventful (we stayed in a hotel overnight to break up the trip) and the girls did really well again.  What a great week we had in Siesta Key .... cant wait until next year!!!
