Swim Lessons

We spent a lot of time at the pool this summer.  It is so nice to have one so close and it was never really crowded at all!  Whitney was brave this summer and learned to go under water.  It was a day of swimming with friends when she finally took the plunge.  We were all so proud of her that we decided to have an ice cream party in her honor.  She felt so special and I think it encouraged her even more to take the next steps with swimming.  Because the next week at swim lessons she went all out.  Doing bobs, swimming with her face in and even going down to the bottom of the pool to get pennies.  She now doesn't even hesitate when getting into the water, slides her goggles on and just takes off swimming.  Yay!!  We are still working on jumping in but I will take this huge improvement over last summer any day!

Meredith still doesn't love the pool.  She really doesn't like any activity that restrains her.  She wants to be on the move and free!  She enjoys walking all over the pool deck and checking everything out more then she likes the pool.  Maybe next summer!!??
