Our 4 year old!

Whit is 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow did that time fly by, it feels like yesterday that she was a little baby!  I think we have said it for each stage but think having a four year old is awesome.  She is SO smart and is into learning about everything.  She amazes us everyday.  She is going to be a great teacher to her little sister, that is for sure!  Whitney is so patient and kind with Meredith and really honestly loves being with her; she does not like when she goes to nap and races upstairs to greet her when she wakes!

This year Whitney LOVES school.  She cried the other day because it was cancelled due to snow and she really wanted to see her teachers; my how times have changed.  I remember last year I was a mess worrying about her and had to stay at the school for months straight because she would cry so hard!  She also goes to Sunday school at St. Columban and loves it there too.  She really is just so grown up and loves being around people.  Whitney loves spending the night with Mamaw and Papaw and even stayed the night with her cousin Bryce after Christmas.  She loved it and cannot wait to do it again.  She hopes to spend the night with Gammy and Papaw as well as her friend Emma soon!

Her favorite things right now are signing and dancing, of course.  She loves Taylor Swift and Kesha (ha of all the people right...no kids songs here).  Whitney loves to help, whether that is with Meredith, cooking dinner, cleaning up to house, setting the table or packing the car to go somewhere.  She is always offering to help!  One thing she really loves is making books.  Before she even makes it down the steps in the morning she is already saying, "ok today i want to make a book about....."
She will find pages in her coloring books or ask us to find them online and print them out for her.  We have so many books around our house that we could start our own library.  Some of the earlier ones we just printed pictures and added our own words to them to make a story but recently she has just been into coloring the books and using her words to tell the story as she reads it.  Gammy and Papaw gave her a book making kit and she LOVED doing that.  She came up with a great story and loves to share it with everyone that comes over!

Whitney also loves playing her leapad and the Ipad.  She really knows how to use and rarely needs help, which is crazy to me.  She is getting better with moving the mouse on the computer but gets frustrated sometimes because she would rather touch the screen instead......ha spoiled generation huh???

She really enjoys Disney movies and knows just about every line from The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Pocahontas, Toy Story, Wreck it Ralph, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, and Tangled.

Her favorite toys are not her own but those that belong to her sister...haha.  With all of her new Christmas and Birthday toys, you would think she would be playing with those non-stop, but I often find her playing with Meredith's battery operated train or make-up table.  Pretty funny:)

Whit is "no nap Whitney" now.  She was napping around 1.5-2 hours everyday when I was pregnant with Meredith and after she was born; but I would say around Christmas time we started noticing that when she napped she would be up super late and we don't want that!!!  We do quiet time and she doesn't like it at all, not one bit! Sometimes she falls asleep up there and it makes for a long night as well, so we are creative.  On occasion she goes into her room for a little bit to play and read, or she watches a show but some days we just run errands and skip it altogether.  (she likes those days best haha)  She sleeps so well at night, FINALLY.  She goes to bed around 8:30 ish and sleeps until around 7:00 in the morning.  It took us a long time to get to this good sleeping place and now we just need to work on Mere but mommy wants to sleep that long too :)!

At her four year old check up she did great!  She had to get three shots and really handled it well, poor girl.  She didnt cry but she did give the nurse a pretty good kick in her gut...haha serves her right :).  I took her to get a milkshake after because, lets admit it, sugar helps make everything better!!

She weight 36 lbs and is 41.5 inches long.  We did have to start her on several allergy medications.  Poor thing is just miserable year round.  I took her to the doctor several times thinking she was sick but it was allergies.  She is currently taking claritin, singular and flonase.  We will try these three for a month and if we see improvement we will tweak and continue what works but if not we will see an ENT to determine if she may need her adenoids taken out.
