Spring Break
Although I will forever remember this spring break as the time Whitney chipped her two front teeth, we had an amazing time together and it just makes me more excited for next year!! We both had trouble getting back into our routines today but it helps knowing that we have less than six weeks to go and we can have an eternal spring break:)
Last week we went to story time at the Symmes Township Library for the very first time. She loved it so much. I didn't know what to expect and thought she might cling to me and be shy but that was far from the truth. She danced, said "more" each time the lady stopped signing, and played with the other kids after it was over. We cannot go again until this summer because it starts at 11 and that is when we need to head out to get to Jenny's house on time, but at least we know there is something fun we can do each week later this year!

We also had several play dates that we usually dont get to enjoy because of our short time together in the morning. Whitney got to see her friends Ellie, Margot, Cara as well as her cousin J.J. Mommy enjoyed this just as much because she got to have some adult interaction time which doesn't happen often!!!
Whitney LOVES going to the park down the street from our house. There are always ducks there and of course she loves the swing. We check out the ducks first, where she runs after them until they eventually fly away and then we go to the swings. She always seem to make friends with someone over there being her friendly self and even has conversations with them while she swings:)
Once a girl said, "I like your shoes." to which Whitney replied, "Oh my, thank you." I literally LOL...she is too funny. The only problem with going to the park is that Whitney never wants to leave. Honestly she will swing all day if you let her and when you ask her if she wants to stop, no matter what you offer her, she will say no. I pull out all the stops too....."wanna go see daddy?" "NO" "wanna go get a snack?" "NO!"....haha:)
Whitney and I ventured out to Barnes and Nobles to finally spend her gift from Aunt K. She had a blast looking at all the books and of course talking to everyone person in the store. We eventually settled on this pack of Sesame Street books. She carries it everywhere and it isn't light...she is obsessed. Funny thing is I showed her the pack thinking she would get excited about having Elmo books but she is into every character other than Elmo!! Right now her favorite is Cookie or Ernie!!
We also spent a lot of time outside. With Tim working in our house it gets noisy so the best place for us is outdoors...which was perfect since it was so nice outside. She loved playing with rocks and her cars on the deck.
On Wednesday, I was washing my hands to feed Whitney dinner when all of the sudden she falls over and hits her mouth on the windowsill. I have NEVER felt so sick in my life. She chipped the two front top teeth and had a small cut on the inside of her lip too. She wasn't as hysterical as I thought she would be but don't worry I made up for it and must have been repeating, "OH GOODNESS, OH MY" because through her tears, Whitney began saying that too!!! :(
To make a long story short, I cried for hours but Whit bounced back within minutes. We took her to children hospital the next morning, where we were told that her teeth are fine, no root damage and she should be fine unless she starts refusing food due to hot or cold sensitivity. Although it was traumatic going down to the Children's Emergency Dentist, it was probably the best thing for all of us.
Not only did we get answers about her teeth, we had an amazing dentist who was great with Whitney and we were also reminded of just how lucky we are. It is JUST her baby teeth and we left there thanking God that she is otherwise a healthy girl. I am tearing up right now just thinking of some of the kids we saw down there. One little girl that rode in the elevator with us will forever be in our hearts and on our minds. Whitney was starring at her because she was wearing a mask and the little girls mom said, "Go ahead honey, tell the little girl what you got." This precious little girl looked at us with her big eyes and proudly said, "I got a new heart!" Talk about crying....that sweet little girl was walking around the hospital a month after her surgery as proud as can be!! Life changing for all of us, honestly!
The picture below is to show you that the morning after her tooth chipping, she is chowing down on an apple as if nothing happened:)
This is my favorite picture, I think she is saying, "I dare you to take this apple away from me!"
This is the only swing that Whitney fits in at the Intermediate school behind our house. She doesn't seem to mind though...sings and laughs for literally ever on this thing!!
Love this little girl:) I had to take this picture to show that she will NOT hold my hand anymore when I try to walk beside her she says, "No, bye bye!" Whew...haha
I am always in a rush to clean up the househaha!
Pretty sure she loves dusting!!!
Whitney and I met my family down on the river to celebrate Aunt Kelley's birthday, so of course we had to get all dressed up:)
Although as I mentioned, her chipped teeth will forever stand out in mind as what happened on Spring Break 2012, I had an amazing time with my little girl. I was a little nervous about my decision to stay home with her next year but after the last 10 days, I know it is the best decision I have ever made. I cannot wait!!!!
