First Birthday
Whitney Marie is ONE!!!
Hard to believe that a year ago I sat holding Whitney wondering how I could love someone so much!! I would wonder what her personality would be like, what the sound of her laugh would be, what her first words would be and even when she would start moving... In the blink of an eye our little one grew and is not so little anymore. She is moving all over the place, has opinions, talks up a storm and brightens our days beyond belief. You hear parents say, every stage of their life just gets better and better and it is so true. We will say, "this is our favorite stage", and then the next milestone comes and we are saying that again!!
Nothing could be more rewarding then watching her during her party though. She knew she was the little princess and enjoyed it all so much!! It all started after her nap when she came down and saw the house decorated. She pointed to the tablecloth/plates/napkins and said "WOW" over and over clapping her hands. We had to keep walking around the house to look at all the decorations, balloons and her cake because she was so excited.
It was a packed house and Whitney really held her own. There were times I thought for sure she would cry or not like all the stimulation but she was so happy!! She loved opening her presents and even took tissue paper out to hug it:)
The biggest surprise was that she actually ATE her cake!! She is such a picky little eater that I thought there was no way she would even touch it but she sure tricked us. Perhaps it was because it was Elmo and I should take note and be creative with all of her foods, but whatever the reason it was too cute:) She ended up taking a few bites of cake and then trying some icing. It was pretty messy but I think she ended up liking it!! We even tried it again the day after and she let us give her a little lick of icing for her Aunt Megs birthday. Maybe she will take in her daddy's footsteps and be a cake and ice cream lover!
