Ready or Not
During this last week of my pregnancy, we have been focusing on our family of three and making sure things are in order. We have been trying to spend some good quality one on one quite time with Whitney before the madness begins and it really has been a good week. I haven't felt the greatest and even thought I was going into labor several times throughout the week but still managed to squeeze in some fun activities.
Whit and Daddy got to spend some QT together on Tuesday after I was up all night with contractions. They mysteriously went away but it was nice having him home during the week and Whit took full advantage of her extra Daddy time:)
She has also been all over the baby toys/items that I have gotten out and washed. She was particularly interested in the bottles and pacis. I gave in a said that she could have water in a bottle one time to see what it was like and then those would only be used for Keeba. She gladly accepted but then later told me she didn't need to use it again because it was too much work to drink from haha!
During my days with Whitney, it has been harder and harder for me to be on the floor or running around with her like I used to be able to do....or like Daddy does; so we have come up with some activities that are easy for both of us to enjoy. Arts and crafts have been big this week. We have gone on many treasure hunts and used those items to decorate paper.....she loves using glue and stickers (and you should see our house....it is covered with art work that she has created:). We sat at the table one afternoon for over an hour decorating and gluing on our treasures and I think she could have gone on longer but I needed to start dinner!
She has also gotten into playing witches stew. Ha! This was totally brought on by mommy being too tired to walk around while she rode her bike or push her on the swing, so I sat in a chair by her swing set and we came up with a potion that would turn daddy into a frog when he got home from work. She totally loved it and we have played it everyday since. It is so fun for her to go searching for the perfect leaves or mulch that will make the potion just right. Love her imagination and the fact that my idea stuck and I was able to sit comfortably while she worked!
The last few days of the week have been dedicated to making them special for the three of us. We went on an ice cream date to a place of Whit's choosing, had a breakfast picnic at her favorite park and just spent some time being home together. It was a nice way to end this pregnancy and get a few fun times in before I am home bound with Keeba for a bit.
