Easter!
Although this is Whitney's third Easter, I believe that this is the first one she will remember because she was still pretty young last year....
We had such a great long weekend with all three of us home spending time together and visiting with family!
Whitney didn't dye eggs last year -- a little apprehensive because again she was a little young -- but this year she loved dying eggs. Her favorite part though was smashing the eggs on the table after accidentally dropping one and hearing that funny sound that it made. I saw a great idea on pinterest about using a whisk instead of the wire dippers and it worked so well, I will definitely be doing it that way again!
Whit and Daddy spent the morning together on Saturday while I visited my Grandpa in the hospital. She of course didnt even know I was gone:) haha! While I was gone Whitney became quite fond of our handheld vacuum. She swept a lot of the house and then turned it off and pretended it was her baby!!! Whatever works right :)
Whitney also got to enjoy being outside in her new house. We got this house two weeks ago and it has been in the garage the whole time because it was too cold (and snowy) to be outside. She loved having her snack outside on Saturday. Her new favorite snack is Trix. I bought them to make Trix Crispies and she eats them up. Funny thing though, will NOT eat the Trix Crispies although she loves trix and marshmallows separately ??? Go Figure?!
Below is when Whitney woke up Easter morning, notice her crazy hair!!! We actually had to wake her up because we were on a time crunch with all of our activities that day. She told me she didn't want to get up until I reminded her that the Easter bunny left her some treats.
She has been so scared of the Easter bunny and apprehensive about him coming into our house so we actually had to tell her at some point that the bunny wouldn't come in our house but would leave the treats outside for us to bring in. She forgot all about that when she found her treats tho!!
I have to mention about the two times we saw the Easter bunny in the mall. We weren't there to see him on either occasion but she totally did not like being in the same area as him!! She saw him and got very scared telling my mom that she didnt want the bunny to take her away, which is so sad that she would even think that. The entire time we ate she kept giving him the stink eye and even had to turn her back to him in the food court. We went back the next week and the same thing, she was gripping onto my shoulder so tightly it had to hurt her little fingers. Whitney didnt have that reaction to Santa so I am wondering if it is the fact that it isn't a "real" face. She is also afraid of the blue blob (up close), the musketeer, and Mr. Red. They all have masks on so maybe that is what she doesn't like!?
Whitney called the Easter bunny on many occasions asking for a new doll. She is in love with her Belle and Cinderella dolls and she found out that there are more dolls just like them in the princess collection. Wouldn't you know that the Easter bunny listened to her calls and brought her a new doll to not only our house by Mamaw and GG;s house too! She now has all but one in the collection and Im sure its a matter of time before she starts asking for that one :)
Look at the hair!
After church on Sunday morning we went straight to the hospital to visit Gramps. We brought along treats for brunch and Whitney got to open her newest doll there too:)
Here they are with her new Snow White doll!
Later that day after going to Mamaw and Papaw's house for an egg hunt and lunch, we went to Gammy and Papaw's house for dinner (told you we had a full schedule!!) We sure missed Jay, Elaine, JJ and Caroline who were stuck at home with the stomach bug germs :(
Uncle Kyle was reading Whitney one of her new books that Gammy got her for Easter.
After dinner Whit and Bryce went outside to play with their new balls they got that day. Whit must have been following in Bryce's footsteps because my little dainty girl who hates to fall down was soon rolling over her big ball and falling on the ground...haha!!!
Whitney had fun riding the big wheel around the driveway!
After a few tears from making them come inside, it was freezing out there but they didnt seem to notice, we came inside and Gammy read some stories.
Today, Monday, is opening day and since it was a little too cold to head down to the parade, we decided to take Grandpa a hat and lunch since he was still in the hospital. He loved the company and the hat that he wore to cheer on his favorite team!!
Here are Papaw and Whitney watching the birds fly around outside the window/
That is a crazy amount of fun to pack into one weekend!!! Glad we were a part of it!!
