Zoo Weather
Last time we went to the zoo it was FREEZING and so crowded that we couldn't even more our stroller an inch without bumping into someone. So we were excited to be back there again with room to walk and nice weather to enjoy!
My initial thoughts were that Whitney would LOVE the animals since she is older and has a better understanding then she did last summer. She talked all the way down there about the animals she couldnt wait to see and in which order we would see them.......
First thing we do is walk into the elephant house and she literally starts shivering!!! She jumped out of the stroller and climbed up my legs! I picked her up and honestly didn't need to hold on because she was wrapped around me so tightly. Poor thing covered her eyes and said get me out of here!!!
I could not believe it! I really thought it would be an awesome thing for her to see three elephants (that she talks so much about) up close and personal. Not so much, we could not get out of there fast enough!
Next we hit up the giraffes and it was the same thing. She was terrified!!!!!! I text Ryan at work and told him what was going on because I was just shocked!! I thought oh man good thing I didnt renew my pass because this is not something I am going to make her do again!
Good news is that once we got past those two animal exhibits she seemed fine. I think it might have had something to do with the fact that those animals are pretty close to you and are rather large. We had a peacock walk right next to our stroller and she liked it (not her fathers daughter there haha). So maybe we will skip the elephant and giraffe exhibits next time:)
And believe it or not we actually rode the train for the first time. Not sure why we didnt do it last year, probably because she didnt seem interested but she loved it. Too cute to watch her in there!
Here are some pictures from our day there:
