Final Fun Week of Summer!

This summer we made a long list of the things we wanted to do while Whitney was off of school.  We did a pretty good job of accomplishing that and enjoyed our summer so much.  But we did save some of the best adventures for last!

We started with a trip to Parky's farm.  The weather was perfect and the animals were so playful!  The goats were especially friendly and loved when the girls brushed them.

Ours friends invited us to the Montgomery Pool and we swam the day away....except for Meredith's 45 long minute nap in the shade with mommy!  Whit was so brave and went off the diving board and the slide more times than I could count!

Bowling was a must this summer, we signed up for free bowling in the spring but just never got around to it.  Its a pretty cool program where you can bowl once a week in the summer and all you have to pay for is the shoe rental.  The girls loved it until the end when both were in tears, one because the balls were to heavy and two because I "helped" Meredith win the second game.... :)

Next we went back to Winton Woods but this time to check out the splash pad that looked so much fun the other day we were there.  I have never seen the girls, especially Meredith, have so much fun in the water.  We brought our lunches, mommy found a spot in the shade and just enjoyed the wonderful time outside!

The eclipse was a big deal too.  We had to keep running down the steps in the apartment with my phone, keys, our old school looking devices, and the monitor because Meredith was sleeping and we didn't want to stay down there.....it was SO  hot outside.  Even though we couldn't see much we did find someone nearby that had special glasses and let us borrow them.  That was the high-light of our day for sure, what a neat thing to see!

And the last day of summer break was filled with Whitney's favorite park, pottery painting and lunch with Mamaw.  Her lunch place of choice was of course, Wendys!  Such a fun way to end summer with my oldest girlie!

Off to first grade she goes and Meredith and I will sure miss her when she is there!
