Countdown to summer

The countdown to the end of the school year was fun!  We've never experienced summer break in the Skeldon household, in my opinion preschool doesn't really count because you barely go to school to begin with....so this is going to be a real, truly earned through hard work, summer for Whit!

Her class did an ABC countdown using each letter of the alphabet to do something fun until the very last day.  Crazy hair, hat day, silly socks, bring a Frisbee or kite, Cincinnati Reds day,  western day and so many more.  It made the last month go by so quickly.

Also within that last month she had her last Daisy Troop meeting for the year and a field trip that her dad got to go on with her to the Cincinnati Children's Museum.  They had a blast and were BOTH very tired that evening!

The last day of school was awesome.  She had some sadness about missing her teacher and friends but was more excited about summer and spending time at home with us!  Whitney has grown so much this year and is really a gifted little girl.

During the last school mass Whitney was awarded the Principals Award.  Mrs. Rhoten (the principal) stated that this award is given to students that have proven that their presence in the school as well as the world we live in makes a difference.  She went on to describe how these students have big hearts, care for others and make each day a blessing.  We know that Whitney embodies this and it was especially awesome to see her recognized for this at her school.  So proud of our little girl and all that she does to help make this world we live in a better place :)

We ended the day with a kindergarten carnival and an award from Mrs. Krause saying that she thinks Whitney is a future author....and we agree, she is always always writing stories and letters!

So long kindergarten and welcome glorious summer!!
