Happy Birthday to Whitney!
We had a fun few days celebrating Whitney! First she woke to a yummy breakfast of her choice (cinnamon rolls and sausage) and then we picked her up from school for a surprise lunch date! On her birthday morning she also woke to a fish tank sitting at her place and was very happy at the prospect of getting to pick out some fish! Sadly Whitney wasn't feeling very well the evening of her birthday and woke the next morning with strep throat. She was able to spend the next two days home from school with us (she was feeling much better after her first dose of antibiotics so I loved having her home so much!!)
With the rest and medicine she had earlier in the week she was ready to go for her double party day on Sunday. Whit chose to have three of her friends over for a shopkins birthday party. They played games, decorated picture frames and even made edible candy necklaces. An hour after her friends left she was surrounded by family and loved being the special girl once again.
It just doesn't seem possible that six years ago she was a teeny tiny baby! Time sure is flying by and we love every second that we get to watch her grow! Whit is such a happy child. She lights up any room she walks into and has a heart of gold. I look forward to seeing her smiling face every day when she gets off the bus and of course her hugs and snuggles because she missed me so much!
Whitney loves going to school now and is so happy when it is music day. She said she just loves to sing and doesn't ever want to stop! Whit is a great big sister and loves playing peppa pig with Meredith when she gets home from school. She is doing really well with reading and writing and loves math just like her dad! She will be starting tennis lessons in the spring and hopes to play soccer again too.
She is in the 75% for height and weight and overall a healthy growing girl. Dr. Zimmerly did mention that she needs to have her tonsils out this summer due to the fact that they are so enlarged and she gets so many sinus infections.
