Keeping Busy
Meredith is changing right before our eyes....like daily!! It is amazing to me how one can develop new skills so quickly. I remember it happening with Whitney too but it still shocks me!! Little Merebear is little no longer, she is running and climbing all over the place. Talking in two-three word phrases and singing songs all day!!! She also no longer says "nae nae" for Whitney, she says Whit or Whitney and we are now onto Mommy and Daddy (not mama and dada). She loves to play piano like her big sister, look out the window for buses, and dress up in any and every clothing item that is around the house! One of my favorites is that she will tell you if she is having fun or feeling happy. The other day she said, "walk, caterpillar, ready, FUN, Happy!!!!!" Makes me smile!!! She loves to count to ten (she says two, five, seven and ten when you say all the numbers). She does the same with the alphabet and knows the color yellow really well thanks to all the buses in our backyard everyday!
Whit is as busy as ever. She loves playing outside with her friends. They are currently enthralled with playing squirrels, apparently they have to prepare for the "harsh winter" by making food..which consists of all MUD and lots of it! Nice to see all of them getting along and pretending together! Whitney still enjoys piano lessons and is getting quite good. She can play Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Hot Cross Buns without even looking at her notes. Her teacher has her playing the scales and getting quicker at finding sets of keys together. We are very proud of her!! Whitney goes for her kindergarten screening at St. Columban in a few weeks, it will be here before we know it!!! Whit also loves writing in her journals and doing math problems. She loves walking around with her calculator figuring out problems. You can also hear her counting constantly! She can count to 60 without a hitch and has even gone up to 100 without help! Her favorite game to play is Trouble. We play it at least two times a day and I have NEVER won! She is ruthless or lucky or maybe both haha!! Great game though for counting/strategy and some mommy-Whitney time!
