Meredith's Two Month Check Up
Meredith is doing so much better crying wise!! Yay! She rarely cries anymore and is making so many different sounds! Her reflux seems to be under control although she still spits up like a crazy girl. I really think I change my clothes more then she does!!
She loves to smile and watch her sister. Doesn't matter what Whitney is doing, Meredith's eye are wide open taking everything in. There are times that Ryan and I cannot calm Mere down but Whitney comes into view and she is okay! It really does melt your heart to see how much love they have for each other already!
Meredith loves to snuggle. When I finish feeding her, I will turn her around after a burp so that she is facing out and every time she wiggles her nose/face into my neck and literally sighs, almost like its just what she wanted. I cannot resist that and smile every time......who wouldn't love a good snuggle right? She is starting to grasp things and has been following objects with her eyes for a while now. She likes when Whitney sings and was mesmerized one night when Ryan and Whit were playing the wii. She was turned so she wasn't watching the television but could only see the two of them bowling with their controllers and loved it. She was bouncing in her chair and making so funny noises! She prefers to sit up rather then lay down and would rather sit in a chair then be held. Mere is the total opposite of Whit in that when she is tired she wants to be laying down swaddled and not held. You can see the signs that she is tired, so you put her down and she will put herself to sleep in minutes!! I remember when Whit was that little and I had to rock her until she was out because she would scream if I put her down awake!
At this point Whitney was sleeping on her own, in her crib but Meredith just spent her first night in her crib last night (Monday 9/15). Mere has acid reflux so much worse then Whitney did and it is hard for her to lay flat. Meredith slept for 6 hours in her crib (with me in the bedroom with her on the twin bed) but after I fed her at 3 a.m. she had a really hard time keeping the milk down and was gagging a lot. I ended up taking her out of the swaddle and let her sleep in her rock and play since it keeps her head elevated. I may end up moving back to my room soon and doing what I did last night, start in the bed but after a feeding put her in the rock and play so that she doesn't have trouble with the reflux. Getting a lot more sleep is really helping me. She usually goes from 9 in the evening until 3 or 4 in the morning before her next feeding but once she made it until 5 in the morning which felt like a full nights sleep for me!!
At two months, Meredith weighed in at 12 lbs 11 ounces and was 23.75 inches long. 90th percentile for both.
