Valentines day and more

To follow up with my previous blog these are older pictures (probably four or five weeks for some of them) but they needed to be added to our memory book! So :) :




One COLD morning we needed to get out in the fresh air so we bundled up to play at the park.  This was the warmest spot, in the cave!


We visited with Will and Adele one morning and had a fun snowball fight.  Who do you think cleaned all of that up!?!?


After church we had dinner with Gammy, Papaw and Aunt K.  Whit had fun playing with them and showing off all of her toys.  



We aren't usually in the car around rush hour time anymore so when we were heading to meet daddy for the XU game, she needed some sunglasses badly.  Daddy's were the only ones I could find but they worked well enough!!!


Valentines Day!!!!  Hungry Hungry Hippo was one of her surprises and she loved playing the game.  Although I must say that it isn't made quite as well as it used to be!


We visited GG and Gramps on Valentines day and when Gramps left his chair....Whit was super sneaky and stole his spot.  Anyone who knows Gramps, knows that that is HIS chair...needless to say he was surprised and made Whit giggle when he came back in the room:)


She loves her daddy and even tries to dress like him.  Yes that is his Reds shirt and his CLEAN socks:)


And last this is Whit's favorite, watching the Xavier game with daddy while eating a "lick".  (sucker)

South Haven, Michigan

We love Michigan and had such an amazing time on our family trip to South Haven this year.  The 4.5 hour drive was easy with older kiddos and totally worth it for the memories we made this year! An old high school in downtown South Haven was renovated into lofts recently and we decided to check it out.  It was such a cute place with pieces of the high school here and there for memory sake.  They had old school desks as the sinks in the bathrooms and lockers turned on their side used as planters throughout the building.  The lofts were very nice and spacious and had an indoor pool and movie theater. We had some great food this time around and even met up with some friends that were staying nearby.  The girls loved being on floats in the water, swimming in the pool and checking out downtown.  I would say the highlight of the trip was the dune ride we took on a rainy morning.  It was so much fun and had such amazing views!! Broken Bone

During quarantine Ryan and I were always saying to the girls, "be careful and don't break anything, we dont want to have to go to the ER during this crazy time...." Whit of course breaks her wrist smack dab in the middle of it all!!!  Myself, Ryan and both girls have never broken a bone -- why does it happen when we literally aren't supposed to and don't want to leave the house!?!? Whitney was riding her scooter on April 22 and the wheel got caught in a crack on a neighbors driveway, down she went catching herself with her left wrist.  She immediately screamed out, "I BROKE MY ARM!!!"  I knew it was a bad fall but everything looked okay, just a little blood and I thought this is like her other falls where she is pretty dramatic.  Fast forward and hour and she is feeling sick to her stomach and still in a whole lot of pain.  We luckily have several neighbors in the orhto field that took a look at her arm; she put it in an ice bath and they suggested t...

Fantasy Football

Football season has arrived which means all the men in our family start using "uh huh" and "mmmm hmmm" as their main vocabulary.  This is especially true on draft day when all of them gather at the Sims house for good food and lots and lots of football talk!  The girls make sure they are "seen and not heard" on this day and usually congregate far away from the madness that ensues inside.  Picture this: 15 or so guys huddled over pages and pages of spreadsheets listing every football player worth anything in the NFL, scrambling to make just the right pick, only to receive 'smack' talk from all the other guys about how that wasn't the pick they would have made.  Bret doesn't mess around and has a larger than life poster to list all the draft picks with color coordinated stickers.....Im telling you if you haven't experienced this you won't believe your eyes!!  Once the draft if over (after about two hours of the above craziness) they a...
