Induction Day

Image
Friday, July 18 at 4:00 A.M. I was set to be induced at Bethesda North. I got a little emotional when my mom came to pick up Whitney and take her back to their house to stay while we were at the hospital.  I haven't been too crazy about adding another child but something about this "last day" just made me want to keep her here and not let go!  I don't like change one bit..... haha, can you tell???She of course was super excited to be spending the night and didn't even bat an eye when I asked for a few more hugs then usual as she left. So Ryan and I spent our last night getting things in order and going to bed early for our 3:00 AM wake up call.  I did not sleep.  Surprise, surprise.  I didn't sleep when I was induced with Whitney either (it was the same time in the morning with her too....) so when the alarm went off, I was ready to go get this show on the road.  We get dressed, brushed our teeth and then hear my phone ring.... The hospital cal...

Ready or Not

During this last week of my pregnancy, we have been focusing on our family of three and making sure things are in order.  We have been trying to spend some good quality one on one quite time with Whitney before the madness begins and it really has been a good week.  I haven't felt the greatest and even thought I was going into labor several times throughout the week but still managed to squeeze in some fun activities. Whit and Daddy got to spend some QT together on Tuesday after I was up all night with contractions.  They mysteriously went away but it was nice having him home during the week and Whit took full advantage of her extra Daddy time:) She has also been all over the baby toys/items that I have gotten out and washed.  She was particularly interested in the bottles and pacis.  I gave in a said that she could have water in a bottle one time to see what it was like and then those would only be used for Keeba.  She gladly accepted but then lat...

Fourth of July

I cannot remember a time when the weather was as nice for the 4th!  I am 9 months pregnant and felt comfortable outside, which I didn't expect at all! We went to the Blue Ash parade with the Skeldon's and then later on to a cookout at their house.  Crazy to think that just a year ago we were freezing under an umbrella because it was raining so hard and then the year before that we were drenched in sweat because it was miserable outside.  That is Cincinnati weather for ya!

Update

As I approach the end of my pregnancy I feel the need to update our blog on Whit and her accomplishments, funny moments and favorites at this time.  Who knows how often I will blog once Keeba arrives :) As many of you know Whitney has quite the personality.  She is super funny and quick with her words.  She is really into learning new words and using them correctly in sentences throughout her day.  Its quite astonishing sometimes that a three year old figures out to use "natural disaster" or "barbarian" in everyday language.  One of her new things is to talk about what words mean and she will say to someone, "when I say I am digging this yogurt, it means that I like it."  My little teacher helping people understand already:) Some of the things she says/does right now are just hilarious and I thought we should get them down so we don't forget. -Whitney is learning about strangers and is very curious as to why some people are strangers and othe...
