1st Grade

With our trips and wedding celebrations, surgery plus the move we really didnt have a lot of down time this summer.  So therefore we didn't get a chance to really think about the upcoming school year.  I was nervous as the date approached because of how last year started for sweet Whitney.  She seemed upbeat and excited but still had that apprehension about being away from me.   Meet the teacher night was great and she really felt that Mrs. McCloud was going to be a great teacher.  Plus she got to sit next to two of her really good friends! Whitney handled the start of school so well.  She was VERY excited the night before and it continued into the morning of her first day.  She got out of the car with nothing more than a hug and barely looked back when I called out see ya later!!!  MUCH different than last year when Mrs. W had to literally pry her off of my arms for months. She loved her first and second day and seems so much more gr...

Final Fun Week of Summer!

Image
This summer we made a long list of the things we wanted to do while Whitney was off of school.  We did a pretty good job of accomplishing that and enjoyed our summer so much.  But we did save some of the best adventures for last! We started with a trip to Parky's farm.  The weather was perfect and the animals were so playful!  The goats were especially friendly and loved when the girls brushed them.   Ours friends invited us to the Montgomery Pool and we swam the day away....except for Meredith's 45 long minute nap in the shade with mommy!  Whit was so brave and went off the diving board and the slide more times than I could count! Bowling was a must this summer, we signed up for free bowling in the spring but just never got around to it.  Its a pretty cool program where you can bowl once a week in the summer and all you have to pay for is the shoe rental.  The girls loved it until the end when both were in tears, one because the ball...

Apartment Living

Image
We made the move to our apartment!  It has been an adjustment but we all have been trying to stay positive and look for the light at the end of the tunnel.  The girls sharing a room was really scary to me but they have actually done really well.  Unfortunately for the past week and a half, Meredith has been dealing with a cough so for a couple of nights she had to sleep with us because she was keeping Whitney awake..... The girls brought their scooters and have enjoyed going to the park behind our apartment to ride and get some energy out.  I also didn't realize how much they like to run and jump haha!  I feel like I am constantly on them to be quiet but Im sure the downstairs neighbors think we have a zoo up here!! We are here, only ten minutes away from Whit's school and we hope they hurry on our house because this could get old and cramped in here!   Happy House Building!

Starting to take shape

We take a peek at our new house frequently and all four of us get so excited to see any type of movement/change going on over there!  It is amazing how fast they work! Since moving to the apartment we haven't been able to do our daily drive bys accuse we are a little further away, so it really took us by surprise to see our house UNDER ROOF!!!  It is actually looking like a house and the girls loved walking through, finding their rooms and using the stairs! Looks like our driveway will be pretty flat and we are really excited about our nice private backyard! Whit wants to bake some cookies so the guys will maybe get motivated and work a little faster for us!!
