Halloween

Image
Halloween was on a Monday this year so I got to spend my morning with Whitney is her classroom for her party and the afternoon/evening with my family trick or treating. I was very nervous about being the room mom for Whitney's classroom, it is a lot more work than being the teacher on those days...whew!!  But thankfully everything went smoothly and the kids had a great time.  It was nice being in the room with the students and the parents, they are all becoming great friends!!! That evening we got dressed and went to a neighborhood pizza party before trick or treat time.  The Dippolds had pizza, snacks and drinks for all to share.  The kids had fun playing and showing off their costumes while it was fun for us adults to catch up since I hadn't seen some since the pool closed for the summer.   We then went back to our house where my parents helped pass out candy so we could take the girls around the hood.  Meredith was very hesitant at first and...

Pre-Halloween Fun

I took the girls to the Loveland Farmer's Market for the annual trick or treat!  Two years ago it was freezing, last year it was raining but this year was perfect weather!  The girls loved seeing all the other costumes and it was fun for Meredith to practice saying "trick or treat" and "thank you" since she didn't remember it at all from last year.   We also carved pumpkins the weekend before Halloween and it was messy haha!  Whit liked carving but not cleaning it out and Meredith just liked stirring the goo from the inside of pumpkins and taking the tops off of each one as we finished.  Note to self: you do not have to buy/get a pumpkin each time you go to the patch  (five times for us) because carving all of them is a lot of work......BUT it does produce quite a lot of seeds to enjoy after!!

Muskie Madness

The whole family went this year to Muskie Madness!  We have been hesitant to bring Meredith to a game or event like this but she did great and enjoyed it so much!!!  She loved the blue blob and muskie man from afar and just like her sister, loved the dance to all the music! We are ready for another fun filled season but are going to have to divide  up the tickets wisely because Meredith was not too happy about being left behind last night when Whitney went to the game with Ryan.  Looks like all three of us girls will be vying for a change to get to the games!!!

Exciting Times

We had several firsts this month in the Skeldon Household: We have been working so hard to help Whitney settle into school and help her with her worries.  It has been a long road but by the end of October, we finally had a full week of NO TEARS before school!!!  Its a work in progress because after the long weekend she had some trouble again but we have seen her grow and learn to love school so much since the beginning of the year.  Sweet girl just hold so much inside and I guess I never realized how much I was there to help with everyday with her fears.  She is being so brave and working through things on her own at school and like I said, has really made some great strides! Meredith got her first hair cut!!  I didnt want to cut off her little tail in the back that has been growing since birth but it was time.  She loved her hair cut and looks so cute now that her hair is all one length!! Miss Whitney lost her very first tooth!!!  She was w...

Field Trips

It was interesting this year to go on trips to the farm with both girls separately; Whitney with school and Meredith with my MOPS group.  Both were days were beautiful days and a lot of fun getting to know our new friends! Meredith and I went to Shaw Farm with the MOPS group (moms of preschoolers) and had fun on the hay ride but I think her favorite part was either visiting all of the pumpkin people or most likely the snack that was provided for us! Whit went to Blooms and Berries with her school and although I wasn't chosen to be a chaperone, I was invited, as were all parents, to join in on the fun by meeting the class there.  I planned to show up a few minutes early but man I should have planned to arrive WAY early. By the time I got out of my car, the school was on the wagons about to depart on their hay ride.  I had to RUN so fast to catch up to the group and thankfully Whit wasn't too worried that I was late....could have been bad haha!!  It was great being...
