Meredith - 6 month check up

Image
Meredith is such a sweet little girl.  We love seeing her personality evolve each day.  She is so happy and loves giggle at her sister.  She is awake so much now and really loves being a part of everything that is going on...and I mean everything.  I don't know if Whitney really knows what is about to happen but it might not be pretty at first.  Meredith started scooting forward a little bit when she was on her belly and trying to reach for a toy.  I believe it is only a matter of time before this girl is into everything!!!  Whit about had a fit when Meredith reached forward and tore her train apart the other day, I cannot imagine the chaos that will ensue when Meredith can just crawl up and take anything she wants:) haha!  Guess we better start baby proofing the house! Mere is filling out 9 month clothing and can even wear some of Whitney's 12 months clothes!!  I love that she is big.  I used to worry so much that she wasn't gettin...

Our 4 year old!

Whit is 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow did that time fly by, it feels like yesterday that she was a little baby!  I think we have said it for each stage but think having a four year old is awesome.  She is SO smart and is into learning about everything.  She amazes us everyday.  She is going to be a great teacher to her little sister, that is for sure!  Whitney is so patient and kind with Meredith and really honestly loves being with her; she does not like when she goes to nap and races upstairs to greet her when she wakes! This year Whitney LOVES school.  She cried the other day because it was cancelled due to snow and she really wanted to see her teachers; my how times have changed.  I remember last year I was a mess worrying about her and had to stay at the school for months straight because she would cry so hard!  She also goes to Sunday school at St. Columban and loves it there too.  She really is just so grown up and loves being ar...

Birthday Weekend!

Image
Whitney was showered with love and gifts all weekend.  She sure knows how to party!! It started with her birthday celebration at school where she was met at the door with a birthday crown and chose to bring in Oreo's for her birthday treat! Saturday we had a party at our house with just our immediate family.  She requested tacos and a cupcakes (mommy and daddy are not eating sugar anymore so she enjoyed her treat while we looked on longingly :)) and opened her presents!  Her expressions are priceless and make you feel like you did an amazing job picking out her gifts! Sunday was a busy day.  Whitney requested a donut for breakfast and then we were off to her birthday part at Chuck E Cheese's.  She had quite the crowd and loved playing all the games.  Last year she was terrified of the mouse but gave him a big old hug this year!  She loved the ticket blaster and eating her cookie cake with her friends and cousins! After the party we wen...

Bath time!

Image
Whitney and Meredith had their first bath together the other night.  Whitney has been waiting for this for a long time and was very excited to be in there with her sister.  We used the bumbo chair for Meredith because she isn't super steady all the time and needs a little support, especially in the bath tub!  It isn't my favorite way to give her a bath because both of my hands aren't free so I still prefer to lay her down even if she is almost too big for the tub!

Meredith Update

Image
Oh Meredith! Poor little thing is just so fussy.  We aren't sure if its colic, reflux, lack of sleep or just her personality but whew, we are exhausted!  Whit was a fussy baby but nothing compared to this! From about 4 months on (almost 6 months now) she has been waking at night  a lot .  I mean some nights it is upwards of 20-30 times.  Most nights it is around 10...which is A LOT.  It is not good sleep for anyone involved.  The only she wants/needs is her paci!  Ugh!  She falls asleep on her own and has no problem other then when her paci falls out, she wakes up and screams for it.  As soon as you pop it back in, she is back to sleep and happy.  So hard because she isn't quite old enough to get the paci back in her mouth by herself which makes for some long nights!!    We took her to the doctor a two weeks ago and they doubled her reflux medicine!  The doctor we saw said that what she was taking wasn't ...
