4 month check up

Image
Meredith went in for her 4 month check up this week and she is a growing healthy girl!  She weighed in at 16 lbs and 4 ounces.  She was 25 inches long!  (95% for weight, and 50% for height) Her acid reflux is finally under control and she is spitting up a little less, but spit up isn't an indication of how she feels, even though I would like her to spit up less it really doesn't bother her.  Meredith is sitting up in her bumbo chair, the highchair and even on the floor with the boppy wrapped around her.  She is so strong!  When you hold her, she doesn't like to be laid down or sitting, she likes to stand and look around.  She also rolls over to her side and kicks up her feet when on the floor.  No rolling over yet but I have a feeling it is coming soon.   She has a tight grasp and grabs onto anything that is in front of her, including her sister's hair!  She is also starting to laugh.  Her first laughing fit happened wh...

Busy life!

Ryan and I often think, what in the world did we do with our time before we had kids??  It is crazy to think how much down time we probably had!  We never stop.  Ever.  It is crazy how much you run around or how busy life is with two little ones, and neither of them are playing sports which just adds to the craziness! Its so much easier to stay home with the girls when it is just me (and with Ryan too, whew Meredith is a homebody just like her mommy and doesn't appreciate leaving at all!)  So we become very creative with what we do at home.  My favorite times though are when I catch Whitney playing with or reading to Meredith.  I stop what I am doing, no matter what, and listen/watch.  Whitney loves to read to her and Meredith of course is captivated by anything Whitney does so it is a great combination! Whit has been into technology recently.  She has rounded up all of her pretend phones, all of our old cell phones and even our old ...

So Big!

I don't remember Whitney growing up this fast but then I didn't have anything to compare it to right?  Meredith is getting so big!  I cant believe it sometimes.  She is almost sitting on her own.  Can you believe that??  She can sit (with me there of course) on her own for like 2 seconds before she leans forward and I catch her; but wow, Whitney didn't sit on her own until around 6 months!  She is completely steady in the bumbo chair and high chair, she even pulls herself into a sitting position when she is leaning back in her bouncy chair!  She doesn't want to miss any of the action and has to follow her sister with her eyes so of course she needs to sit up to get a better view:)    We take her to the doctor next week and I am anxious to get her official height and weight! Such a happy, laid back little baby!!

Disney Princesses and Heroes on Ice

Image
Whitney and I had a date day last weekend!  We went to Disney Princesses and Heroes on ice.  It was such a fun time and we both loved the show.  I'm so thankful we were able to get out and spend some one on one time with each other because it is hard during the week to make it happen.  She loved seeing all of her favorite characters, singing her favorite songs, and of course eating a snow cone and picking out a special toy with her own money! She chose to dress like Rapunzel, without the long hair/wig of course, and was most excited to see The Little Mermaid guys come out and skate around.  The sound of her singing along and the smiles she had throughout the show made every minute and every penny we spent totally worth it!

Halloween

Whitney had so much fun at her school Halloween parade and party.  She smiled the whole way around the church and was so proud of her astronaut costume.  She was the only girl that wasn't wearing a princess costume, pretty crazy!  I didn't know how she would do during the singing portion of the parade but she did awesome.  In fact, she barely even looked at me, she was too busy performing and dancing to notice!! Even though the weather wasn't perfect for Halloween, we still had a great time.  Whitney enjoyed seeing her neighborhood friends and getting some delicious candy!  She last about 45 minutes then came home to pass out candy with Daddy and Papaw.  Meredith was pretty fussy so she stayed inside with Mamaw and went to bed early but she still looked too cute in her monkey costume while it lasted.
