Live and Learn

Anyone who has had their house worked on knows that it isn't always easy and there are times when you reach "your limit" and things just go a little bonkers....Well that was tonight, all the house drama, on top of Whitney being sick and what happened after her bath tonight just sent me over the edge......  Nothing against anyone involved in the situation, it is just hard to have a one year old running and crawling around on a MESSY floor while trying to make dinner.  Not to mention the loud banging and sawing going on right next to us.  We knew what we were getting ourselves into with this and we could not ask for a better group of guys working in our house, honestly... I just probably needed to get out of the house and not try to cook dinner in the middle of all of it!!! Wellllll............. Whitney has been sick with an ear and eye infection and a little cold; nothing major but the poor thing has been having some belly troubles with the medicine.  So today was ...

Counting

Whitney loves to count but will only say the number two :)  We count all day long and that is the only one she will ever say!! Jenny was showing her these balls that when pushed down, pop back up and make a loud noise.  Whitney loved it one, because Jenny was counting and two, because it was fun to watch them pop up.  Her giggle is precious!! Just had to share: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn_5vXUAo_U

First steps

She waited almost 12 whole months before moving at all and then within two months of crawling she starts to walk!!!  This girl is ON THE MOVE!! Her first wobbly steps were between Ryan and I after her bath on several occasions but they weren't very steady and they were only because we stood her up and then caught her mid fall after only a few steps.  Shortly after those days, Jenny set her phone up on the ledge so Whitney could see herself on the video camera...she liked it so much that she walked right over to grab the phone!!!  We were all shocked and we think we counted seven or eight steps!!!  Since that day with Jenny she has been walking more and more around the house.  Of course crawling is still her preferred way of traveling because she is so fast but she is even standing up in the middle of the room and walking to get something!!  We get a major kick out of her arms out like Frankenstein with the excited look on her face because ...

Play date and outside fun

Image
We have been so lucky with this weather and have made sure to enjoy it every chance we get!!  Whitney loves to be outside.  She waves to everything whether it is living or not.  When we go on walks she talks the whole time and make sure to wave and say "hi" to everything we pass:) We finally had a play date with Jamison and Will.  It has been a long time coming and all three of them did really well.  Whitney isn't around other little ones very often and we were curious as to how she would act to others playing with her toys.  She didn't like Will playing with her Elmo but everything else seemed to be okay.  Towards the end of the time, Whitney really warmed up and was very curious of Jamison.  He was walking all over the house and she would say "bye" and "where are you" when she couldn't see him.  Of course she didn't interact or talk to him when he was close...but when he was out of sight she was talking up a storm.  Maybe next time!! ...
