Summer Fun

Image
Summer with my girls has always been a favorite and each year I think it can't get better but it does.  We have already had so much fun and we are still social distancing and not really doing the things we have done in the past.  The pools are open and parks opened just yesterday (not that we will be going to those yet....) but we have just been finding our own fun and its been great!   Looking forward to a summer filled with laughter, sun, pools days and ice cream!!!

End of School

The last day of school was weird since we were at home for the whole last trimester.  We celebrated none the less and were glad to be done with distance/online learning! St. C had an end of the year parade which was fun and nice to see all of those familiar faces before summer officially began. We now have a fourth grader and a kindergartner in this house -- crazy!! Let the summer fun begin!

Baby Liv

Kelley and Mike announced they were expecting in October and I think all of Loveland heard my scream, I was so excited!!!  The girls have been so anxious about meeting their new cousin!! We were also prepping for a shower for kel when all the corona-virus stuff hit so we unfortunately had to cancel that special day.  Her friends and our family really came through though and we surprised her with a long distance corona style shower instead.  Kel and Mike were so surprised!! Fast forward a few months and Kel was having trouble with her blood pressure and ended up in the hospital and then less than a week later, delivering her sweet baby girl via c-section.  She came a month early and had a brief stay in the NICU but was home in time for her one week birthday!! We cannot get enough of baby Liv!!!

Angel

Angel had been struggling for some time and we were preparing the girls that it could be the end for her.  It was hard losing Chrissy so suddenly so we wanted to make sure we talked in advance about what might happen to Angel.   She started with the same cough Chrissy had which indicated that her heart was growing larger and making it harder to breathe.  We started her on some meds and she improved for a few weeks.  Ryan and I watched her closely and when she started to cough again we knew it wasn't good.  She wasn't herself, she didn't run upstairs after me, she was laying in odd positions as if she could not get comfortable and just coughed a lot. When I took her into the vet they said they could do a lot of tests and send her to a cardiologist (which by the way would cost $500 just to schedule the appointment) and we said no.  She lived a good life and was almost 16 years old!!  The girls thankfully said their goodbyes before I took he...

Broken Bone

Image
During quarantine Ryan and I were always saying to the girls, "be careful and don't break anything, we dont want to have to go to the ER during this crazy time...." Whit of course breaks her wrist smack dab in the middle of it all!!!  Myself, Ryan and both girls have never broken a bone -- why does it happen when we literally aren't supposed to and don't want to leave the house!?!? Whitney was riding her scooter on April 22 and the wheel got caught in a crack on a neighbors driveway, down she went catching herself with her left wrist.  She immediately screamed out, "I BROKE MY ARM!!!"  I knew it was a bad fall but everything looked okay, just a little blood and I thought this is like her other falls where she is pretty dramatic.  Fast forward and hour and she is feeling sick to her stomach and still in a whole lot of pain.  We luckily have several neighbors in the orhto field that took a look at her arm; she put it in an ice bath and they suggested t...
