Fort Myers

Jim and Elaine were spending the month of February in Florida so we decided to join them again for a long weekend.  I was stressed and worried about the trip; missing school, germs, flying with kids...you name it!  For many reasons I was able to calm myself down and see the bigger picture.  Life is short and unpredictable.  We need to live and make memories every chance we get.  Our family will remember this trip for years to come and that is truly what matters most. We will remember the laughter we had when introducing Gammy and Papaw to face swap.  This is the trip that Meredith learned how to swim and we will remember her face when she showed us all she could go under water and swim without floaties.  We will remember our boat ride and spending time with Jim's sisters.  And who could forget the animals we saw and the walks we went on to hunt for alligators and turtles! We were all a little sick and came home late last night but we are happy...

Snow Days!!!

Snow day/Cold day, we don't really care what you call it because we LOVED our time together!!  The first day off, with -20 degree wind chills outside, we hunkered down inside and played with Bailey.  Whitney especially loved this because she doesn't get to spend a lot of time with her due to being in school all day!  We also had to get our little doggies some onesies from Once Upon a Child because they were having some issues being outside for even a minute with the cold temps! The second day we ventured out....ran to our destination from the car because it was FREEZING but got out of the house indeed.  We went to Mad Potter and the girls spent over an hour painting.  I was pleasantly surprised because last time it was about ten minutes for Meredith before she was finishing and begging to go home.   The third day we ran some errands and it made me smile because Whitney was so happy to just be along for the ride.  We were shopping buddies ...

Remodeling

We took our time deciding what we wanted to do with our kitchen and living area.  Its a big decision that will last a long time so we needed to make sure we would love it.  We started with hanging curtains throughout and with our nine foot ceilings, it really changed the look of our house!!  Then the salvage sisters came in and worked their magic!  We met with them way back in the fall and we were a little bummed to have to wait so long before they could start but it was worth the wait!!!  Having white shiplap really made the room seem brighter and again going up to the nine foot ceiling made it seem so much bigger than before.   Something small on some people's radar would be the tv placement but we were ecstatic to have the tv hanging on the wall!!  In our previous houses we had it hung over the fire place so when we moved here and had it down low, we quickly realized it wasn't for us!! It is a lot of fun and very rewarding to make a ho...
