Mother's Day Tea

Image
Lakeview Preschool does such a great job each year in making the moms feel special.  The mothers day tea was a 70s, flower power theme.  The songs were wonderful and the time spent alone with Whit was even better!!!  I will also cherish these lovely preschool memories!

New House

Ryan and I had back to back closings on our old and new houses Friday.  We were both excited and nervous about the process but everything went smoothly and we were at our new house with keys in hand by 2:30 in the afternoon!  We were so excited to move into this beautiful house but also had apprehensions about Whitney and Meredith because change isn't easy for anyone.   Friday evening as we carried our first loads into the house the girls were going crazy and were so excited about the house that it just made us all let out a sigh of relief.  They loved their rooms but even more so the basement with their secret hide out!!!  Does a mommys heart good to see her girls happy and having fun! Moving day was a little rainy but honestly went very smoothly as well.  We hired a moving company and are very thankful we did; moving is not fun and I would not be happy doing it in the pouring rain.  These guys had mats down everywhere and were really careful n...

Saying our "See you laters"

As moving week came closer we knew it would be hard to say goodbye to our friends and neighbors, well they really were one in the same....all of them became such a big part of our lives and it was going to be sad to move away.  We lived at Whirlaway for almost 9 years.  We watched the kids grow up as they did ours as well.  The girls went from occasional play mates to best friends and even baby sitters.  We are so blessed to have lived on that cul de sac and met these wonderful people and also are very thankful that we didn't move that far away.  (in fact that neighborhood girls already came to play at our new house yay!) We invited all of Whit's friends to our house for a pizza party.  The pizza party turned into a major dance party and later into their favorite game of hide and seek.  It was awesome to have everyone together to celebrate their friendship and also to give each of them a special picture frame that Whit made. We also spent a very im...

The Grouchy Ladybug

Image
The Star Class put on a play called the Grouchy Ladybug this year.  The kids had to bring their own costumes and they practiced really hard for several weeks.  Whit was supposed to be the lobster but someone wasn't following directions so she was promoted to the Grouchy Ladybug.  She was beyond excited to be the lead in the play and took her lines very seriously.  She had to say, "Hey you, wanna fight???" and then, "you're not big enough anyway" over and over again! It was awesome to watch her up in front of the crowd and so cute to see the kids get so excited about their parts! She was nervous but you couldn't tell, she loved being up there and said all of her words clearly!  Hopefully we will be watching more and more plays with her in them as she goes through school!

Animals

The zoo hasn't been a place we have frequented since Meredith was born but we know now that we should totally be heading that way because she LOVES animals. Whit's school had a farm come out and bring some animals.  The school invited siblings to come in between the morning and afternoon sessions so I took advantage of it.  Meredith loved every second of it.  She tried to kiss each one (ewww) and thought brushing them was a lot of fun!  I think she liked holding the chicks the most!

Reds Game

Guess it is because the Reds aren't that great this year but we got a great deal on tickets and scooped them up!  The weather was perfect and mommy did her best to pack every yummy snack she could find in the house!  Thank goodness they allow outside food or our girls would last about two minutes before begging for everything that came down the aisle..haha This was Meredith's first sporting event ever, she is a bit of a handful sometimes so we haven't even tried confining her to seat for long periods of time haha!!  Crazy thing is, she did so well!  She loved looking around and eating all the goodies I brought from home!  Both girls made it until the 7th inning stretch and then starting getting really tired.  The Reds even pulled out a win for us! Whit loved all the mascots and waited patiently to give each one a hug or high five.  Mere on the other hand wanted no part of it and was terrified to even look at them.  Sounds familiar... :) ...
