Summer Adventures

Image
Although I do not love the extreme heat we are experiencing right now, I do love the summer and all of the fun things we get to do with each other outdoors. We've had many picnics outside with friends and family and when it was particularly nice outside we went with Gammy, JJ, Caroline, Matthew and Aunt Elaine to Weller Park.  I love being able to eat outside, its a nice change of scenery and a chance for the kiddos to run off some of the energy too! We've been swimming in the baby pool in our backyard, our neighborhood pool as well as my parents new neighbors pool.  Meredith doesn't like it too much but we try to occupy her and pass her around so she doesn't get too bored! Whit has had the pleasure of going fishing with Mamaw and Papaw twice and I think altogether she has caught 9 fish!!!  She loves it!!  She reels the fish in with ease and after Papaw helps her take the hook out she holds the fish and carefully puts it back into the water.  I am so happy...

I had my friend Laura take pictures of the girls this past week.  I had pictures done for Whitney when she turned one and of course had to do the same for Mere.  It was a pretty hot day but the girls did so well and looked adorable in the dresses that Gammy made!  Mere smiled some, mostly when my mom was nearby, but it was a workout trying to get her to look or seem happy haha!!  They turned out great though and we cannot wait to print them out!

Teddy Bear Picnic

Our nick name or Meredith is Mere-bear so we decided to have a teddy bear picnic for her birthday.  Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate with us and was supposed to upwards of 100 degrees before noon that day so we moved the party inside to my parents church, Crossroads.  It was a very large spacious room that the kids could run around in and not have to worry about being way too hot.  It was funny because I was so worried about the kids not having anything to do but wouldn't you know they started a game of pretend baseball in the corner, hitting and actually running the bases :) Mere was her usual serious face self but deep down she loved it...haha!!  We laughed when we looked back at the pictures because she was so serious alllllll day, not one smile from her in any picture!!!  She didnt mind people signing to her (perhaps it was because we were in such a large area) and actually liked her cupcake.  When the crowds moved away from her she actually...
