Sisters

Spring has sprung and we survived the cold, cold winter!  I didn't know if we could handle one more cold or sleepless night so we are all glad to have turned the corner.  I am happy to report that Meredith went 16 straight days sleeping through the night!!!  It was amazing and I have never felt so good.  The streak has since ended with the pending arrival of her two new teeth but I am hopeful we can get back there.  We have to because I enjoyed that sleep so very much! Whitney has one more week of two day preschool left at Lakeview then its onto a summer filled with camps, vacations and fun with friends.  I am sure we will like the lack of a schedule for awhile, especially Mere since she doesn't like being in her car seat!   Whitney is such a great big sister.  She is so patient and kind and just loves to cuddle with Meredith.  Mere doesn't often leave Whitney alone but she really takes it in stride and honestly has done a great job ...

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day started off with a special event at Whitney's school.  I felt so loved and it was great getting to spend time with her one on one.  They sang songs, presented us with gifts and then we got to enjoy some treats and punch with all the other guests.  The gift was a candle holder and candle made by Whit.  It was a great way to start the weekend:) We then had everyone over to our house for the Skeldon Family Mother's Day celebration.  It was great to have nice weather so all the kids could play outside with each other.  I love that the girls have cousins to play with and that they all actually get along.  I didn't have many cousins that were close so seeing them love on each other and play together so well it awesome!  Sunday afternoon we spent with the Sims' Family and again, played outside while enjoying the nice weather. The whole weekend was awesome but one particular moment sticks out in my mind and I know I will remember it fo...

Soccer

Whitney decided to give soccer a try this spring and lo and behold, Papaw ended up being her coach.  I wasn't sure how she would like it because I literally had to force her to practice with me but she really enjoyed the first game.  There have been two rain out weekends and two games. After the first week, I think every parent went home and made their kid practice!  There was a huge difference in game two and it was a relief to the coaches I am sure!!  I know on my end, I worked Whitney hard.  I made her steal the ball from me, dribble the length of the yard and practice shooting, and I even pushed back a little bit to show her its okay to have contact with other kids.  She was so afraid to steal the ball from me, or anyone for that matter, because she thought it was mean.  Funny how we spend our time teaching them to share and be polite so when they get into situations like soccer games where they should take charge and get the ball, they feels ner...
