Birthdays, Festivals and Dinner dates

Image
The month of August always seems to be busy and the first two weeks of this month didn't disappoint:)  We celebrated Daddy's Birthday, went to the St. John Festival and had some special dinner/lunch dates! Whitney has never been to this festival before and we really wanted to take her because this is where Ryan and I met back in 1998!  She loved it, got a temporary tattoo, rode the swings and got to try lots of yummy food!  It took her a few times around to enjoy the swing, her face was so sad as she shook when it first started...poor girl.... She then went home with Mamaw and Papaw while her daddy and I worked the beer booth with Jim and Elaine, something we have done every year since we have been old enough.   She also went on a special lunch picnic with GG at Sharon Woods and met Aunt Kel and Papaw for a dinner at Larosas.  We keep our selves busy around here:)

Cousin Fun

Whitney met her cousins JJ and Caroline at the park a few weeks ago and it was a surprise to us to come upon a bunch or trucks and cool cars parked along the way.  It was an event called Touch a Truck that displays vehicles for children to explore all around the city.   Funny I have always wanted to go to one but have never been in the right place at the right time:)  Whitney loved seeing all the trucks and cars but thought the horns were way to loud!!! We also met her cousin Bryce at Run Jump and Play the other week when he was staying with Gammy and Papaw.  They had a great time going on the inflatables and swinging on the swings!

Games and Being Silly

Whit's been really into games recently.  I would have thought a two year old would have troubles with games like Guess Who, Chutes and Ladders, Candy Land and Memory; but she is really doing well with them and plays them every chance she gets!!! She is also really into stories of three right now!  She loves watching The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff!  We even printed out puppets and made the, with Popsicle sticks to put on a play. Whitney is also developing quite the personality.  She likes to pose for the camera every chance she gets and is constantly making funny faces:) Shes also trying to be sneaky but always ends up telling on herself!  For example the other day she was in the corner turned around while I was making dinner....: Me: "Whitney what are you doing?" Whitney: " Nothing Mommy, dont come in here!" Me: (as I of course walk into the other room and she holds up a bag of cookies) ...
