Keeping Busy

Image
One week we dealt with an awful heat wave that made it hard to be outside for more than a few minutes, and the other so cool some we were wearing jackets at the park in the morning!!!  We had our bases covered though with lots of inside and outside things to do! During the heat wave we were among many of the Cincinnati folks enjoying the Aquarium.  We were lucky we went very early and beat most of the crowd.  However there was a no stroller policy and I was worried that Whit would baulk at walking the entire time -- she tends to love her stroller.  She was great though and actually ran through the entire thing haha maybe thats another reason why we beat the crowds!:)   Whit has also been very attached to her pacifiers and we thought it was past due to start getting rid of these things.  So instead of doing it all at one, we made the rule that paci's stay in her bed only.  It was tough for a few days, as she reallllly relied on them to soothe...

Fourth of July

Rain, rain go away...... It wasn't the type of weather you wish for on the fourth of July but we made the most of it. Uncle Jay, Aunt Elaine, JJ and Caroline joined us too.  It was fun and although most of the candy was soaked and we were all a little wet at the end, it was stil...

Balloon Glow

Looking back I can understand that the words Balloon Glow mean only that the balloons will glow.  However when I heard about the Coney Island Balloon Glow, I expected to see the balloons fill up, take off and light up the sky.  Which I was really, really excited about and in turn made Whitney really really excited too.  Being the teacher I am, I got books about the hot air balloons, we looked at pictures online and even watched some videos on YouTube so she could see what we were going to experience..... Ryan, Whitney, Mamaw and I sat for about 45 minutes watching each balloon fill with HOT air (yes we were sweating) and waiting anxiously for them to take off.  They said it was supposed to happen at 8:00; it was 8:30 when I finally went up to one of the balloon guys and asked when they were going to go up in the sky.  He gave me a funny look and told me that none of them were going up tonight, they were just going to light up the sky from the ground.......... ...
